The Commonwealth Ombudsman’s report, Weaponising Child Support: when the system fails families, raises serious concerns about Services Australia, Child Support administration, Private Collect, Family Tax Benefit debts, and financial abuse after separation. 

Those issues matter.

But serious reform must be built on evidence — not assumptions.

This independent review examines what the Ombudsman report gets right, where its methodology is limited, and why allegations must not be treated as findings.

It asks a simple question:

Does the report prove that fathers or men generally weaponise Child Support or does it mainly identify administrative failures within Services Australia?

The answer matters for parents, policy, and children.
